Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about investing, financing and how the platform works.

About XchangeBOX Capital

What is XchangeBOX Capital?+

A trade finance marketplace connecting investors with verified African trades, and SMEs with funding for confirmed orders.

Is XchangeBOX Capital licensed?+

Yes. XchangeBOX Capital Limited is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Nigeria, as a crowdfunding intermediary and operates under the SEC Crowdfunding Rules.

How does XchangeBOX Capital make money?+

We earn origination, facilitation and administration fees on financing facilities. Fees are disclosed before you commit.

For investors

How do I start investing?+

Join the investor waitlist and we will contact you when onboarding opens.

Is my investment guaranteed?+

No. Capital is at risk and returns are not guaranteed. Read the Risk Disclosure before investing.

How does repayment work?+

The buyer pays into a ring-fenced repayment account. Investors are repaid from the buyer's payment before the trader's share is released.

Is my money insured by the NDIC?+

No. Investments are not bank deposits and are not covered by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation or any similar scheme.

Where are investor funds held?+

Funds are held in a segregated custodian or trustee account, separate from XchangeBOX Capital's operating funds, and released when disbursement conditions are met.

Can I withdraw before maturity?+

Generally no. Trade finance is illiquid and funds are committed for the trade cycle. Any early exit option would be stated on the opportunity.

For traders and SMEs

Who can apply for financing?+

SMEs, agri-traders, processors, agritech platforms and smallholder farmers with a verifiable trade. All applicants pass KYC and credit assessment.

What documents do I need?+

Business registration, valid ID, BVN or NIN, details of the confirmed order, and any security offered. Requirements are listed during onboarding.

What is a confirmed order?+

A document confirming the goods, buyer, value and terms of the trade. Funds are disbursed against it and must be used for that trade only.

Do I need collateral?+

The trade itself is the security: the confirmed order, the buyer and an irrevocable payment instruction. No property collateral is required.

What happens if I cannot repay on time?+

Contact us before the due date. Missing a payment without notice is a default and can trigger the recovery remedies in your Trade Financing Agreement.

Can I use the funds for another trade?+

No. Using funds outside the confirmed order is a breach of your agreement.

Security and compliance

How is my personal data protected?+

We process data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and share it only with service providers, the Trustee or regulators as described in our Privacy Policy.

Who are Mono and CreditChek?+

Licensed third-party platforms we use for account verification, credit assessment and direct debit processing.

How do I make a complaint?+
